Named to the Top 100 list of small towns of America by Money Magazine, Grand Terrace has been recognized as a city with a low crime rate, safe neighborhoods and family friendly atmosphere.

With its history dating back to the early 1800s, the Grand Terrace area has rich roots. Originally part of south Colton, a neighboring city, Grand Terrace was incorporated into its own in 1978. Its name comes from its spectacular views as well as its high ground altitude.

 

Situated between the cities or Riverside and San Bernardino, Grand Terrace sits among the La Loma Hills ridge and the Blue Mountain ridge and is considered part of the San Bernardino county.

 

With its quiet streets, friendly residents and low-key lifestyle, real estate Grand Terrace has been a big hit with families that earn a middle-level income.

 

Although Grand Terrace High School is currently under construction, with the expected completion date of summer of 2012, students travel to nearby Colton for their studies. Three other schools also serve the immediate area, including a middle school and two elementary schools. In 2010, Grand Terrace Elementary was named one of California’s distinguished schools.

 

Homes in the area are reasonably priced with the average property selling around the $250,000 mark. Condominiums and mobile homes start considerably less and can be purchased starting around $100,000.
